Overview
This assessment is designed to help identify whether a child is within the gifted range of ability and to guide decisions around intellectual and academic support at home, school or in external programs.
The assessment considers cognitive ability, academic skills and rating scales that review areas such as intellectual ability, motivation, creativity, leadership, artistic talent, adaptive behaviours and executive functions.
What's included
- Intake or background information session
- Direct assessment or testing session(s)
- Questionnaires or rating scales where required
- Written report with findings and recommendations
- Feedback session to discuss results and recommendations

How it works
Assessment Process
The assessment process is broken into clear sessions so the clinician can gather background information, complete the required assessment tasks, prepare the report and discuss the results with you.
Session 1: Parent / Guardian Intake Session
1 hour session. Information gathering session.
No children are to attend the intake session This can be conducted in clinic or via Telehealth.
Session 2: Child Assessment Session
2 hour session. Cognitive Assessment with Child using WPPSI-IV or WISC-V Must be conducted in clinic
Session 3: Additional Assessment Session
3 Hour session. Academic Assessment with Child using WIAT-III Must be conducted in clinic
Session 4: Parent / Guardian Feedback Session
1 hour session. In clinic or via Telehealth.
Report timeframe: 2 to 3 weeks from assessment date
Comprehensive Report
The clinician completes scoring, interpretation and report preparation after the assessment sessions.
What to expect
Report and Fees
Please note that there is a two to three week turn around for report writing. Total cost: $3690.
A $550 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. This assessment is not covered by Medicare.
If you have private health insurance, please contact your provider to see how much they can cover for you. The private health code for assessment is 100.
