If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year.

Your GP will usually provide an initial referral for 6 sessions. After this, you will need to return to your GP for a review if further sessions are required.

Brilliant Minds Psychology can process eligible Medicare rebates on the same day as your appointment. Please bring your Mental Health Care Plan to your first session, or arrange for your GP to send it to the clinic before your appointment.

Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for late cancellations or missed appointments.

Accepted for: Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology

Private health rebates may be available depending on your health fund and level of extras cover.

Please contact your private health insurer directly to confirm whether you are covered for Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology services.

Medicare rebates are not available when claiming through private health for the same appointment.

Accepted for: Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology
Accepted management types: Self-managed and plan-managed only

Brilliant Minds Psychology accepts self-managed and plan-managed NDIS clients.

Brilliant Minds Psychology is not an NDIS registered provider, so we are unable to accept agency-managed NDIS clients.

A Chronic Disease Management Plan may provide access to Medicare rebates for eligible clients with a chronic or terminal medical condition.

This plan must be arranged through your GP and may provide rebates for up to 5 allied health services per calendar year.

These sessions may be especially useful for Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology, where other Medicare rebate options may be limited.

Accepted for: Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology

Children and young people may be referred by a consultant paediatrician or psychiatrist for allied health assessment or treatment services under Complex Neuro-developmental Disorders pathways.

This may include:

  • Up to 4 diagnostic or assessment services to assist with diagnosis or contribute to a treatment and management plan
  • Up to 20 treatment services
  • Services from eligible allied health professionals, including psychologists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists

Eligibility and referral requirements apply. Please speak with your paediatrician, psychiatrist or GP to confirm whether this pathway is suitable.
