Overview
It is common for us at Brilliant Minds Psychology to receive phone calls from NDIS participants that have been asked by their support coordinator or plan manager to have a “DSM-5-TR” assessment. We have created this package to support this request.
The package provides a review of your current NDIS plan, reviewing outcome goals and conducting further assessment. This package is most suitable for those with a current diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual Disability and is provided with NDIS funding.
What's included
- Intake or background information session
- Direct assessment or testing session(s)
- Questionnaires or rating scales where required
- Written report with findings and recommendations
- Feedback session to discuss results and recommendations

This assessment is not covered by Medicare.
How it works
Assessment Process
The assessment process is broken into clear sessions so the clinician can gather background information, complete the required assessment tasks, prepare the report and discuss the results with you.
Session 1: Intake Session
2 hour session reviewing current NDIS goals, current supports and ongoing goals. This session gathers background information and adaptive living skills information, and may be completed in clinic or via Telehealth.
Session 2: Measures and Questionnaires
2 hour session using evidence-based measures to assess social skills and disability-related questions. This may be completed in clinic or via Telehealth.
Session 3: Cognitive Assessment Session
2 hour in-clinic cognitive assessment using the WAIS-IV.
Session 4: Feedback Session
1 hour feedback session. This can be completed in clinic or via Telehealth.
Comprehensive Report
The clinician completes scoring, interpretation and report preparation after the assessment sessions.
What to expect
Report and Fees
A comprehensive report will be provided addressing NDIS goals, current supports, NDIS criteria and summarising all assessment results. Total cost: $3640.
A $550 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking or a signed NDIS Service Agreement. This assessment is not covered by Medicare.
If you have private health insurance, please contact your provider to see how much they can cover for you. The private health code for assessment is 100.
