Overview
This assessment is recommended for children and young people who require a cognitive ability assessment where language or communication may affect typical assessment results. Speech, language or communication difficulties English language learners Culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds Hard of hearing or deaf individuals Diagnosed communication disorders such as Aphasia, Autism Spectrum Disorder or Selective Mutism The assessment uses non-verbal tools to understand cognitive ability where language-based testing may not provide a reliable picture.

How it works
Assessment Process
The assessment process is broken into clear sessions so the clinician can gather background information, complete the required assessment tasks, prepare the report and discuss the results with you.
Session 1: Intake Session
Intake session to gather background information and understand the reason for assessment.
Session 2: Non-Verbal Cognitive Assessment Session
Assessment session using non-verbal cognitive assessment tools where spoken language may create a barrier to standard cognitive testing.
Comprehensive Report
The clinician completes scoring, interpretation and report preparation after the assessment sessions.
What to expect
Report and Fees
A comprehensive report with recommendations will be provided. Total cost: $1680.
A $550 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. This assessment is not covered by Medicare.
If you have private health insurance, please contact your provider to see how much they can cover for you. The private health code for assessment is 100.
